Mountain Lakes situated in the foothills of the Hindu Kush. Contained by a natural dam of marble and surrounded by 300 foot limestone cliffs, the lakes and waterfalls connecting them really are indescribable. The limestone and marble sand is soft like dust, but doesn't become mud in your footsteps and the water is clear, reflecting only the blue of the sky and cold like fresh spring water. These are a day trip from Bamiyan, where the empty graves of the Buddhas destroyed by the Taliban overlook the valley.
